Lupinus bicolor, aka miniature lupine, native to western North America, from northwestern Baja California, throughout California, and north to British Columbia. It only gets about 8cm tall.

saw this on a thistle yesterday morning - it was just cool enough that the bees weren't out gathering. This one may have been waiting here all night for things to warm up enough to start flying again.

Madia sativa, coast tarweed, native to coastal western North America and Chile and Argentina. The leaves have hairs that extrude a sticky resin.

Wee blue flower spotted on yesterday's hike. There were a surprising number of still blooming.
