@JigmeDatse In addition to the 'alpha male' being a problematic concept for performance of masculinity among humans, it's apparently based on a seminal 1947 research paper on wolf pack social structure. Aside from the mistake of assuming canine behavior relates to human human behavior, it also turns out that wolves apparently only behave this way in captivity. @wednesday Yeah, and the author of that paper has made it very very very clear that the paper was seriously mistaken, and further that it was also highly misrepresented... :(
