As a creator I'm very uncomfortable with the word, "fan."
I prefer "friends."
Sometimes you make friends because someone digs your stuff, and that's cool.
"Fans" is one sided. You like my stuff and I'm unaware/uninterested in you.
I'm not looking for fans. I'm looking for friends. For me, releasing a creative work into the world is always an attempt to connect on some level with another person.
