New post: Plaidophile: Disordered thinking beesbuzz.biz/blog/7081-Disorde

I have always been a night owl. Society in general shuns the night owl; waking up early is to be praised, you’re a go-getter, you’re proactive. Waking up late means you’re lazy, you’re irresponsible. Medicine i…

Change is inevitable. Nothing is fixed, and that includes our understanding of things.

Sex and Gender: People

the idea of publishers killing the Internet Archive is horrifying and should be horrifying to everyone.

On blocking

Block and mute early

Block and mute often

Do it for reasons that are entirely "selfish"

No one is entitled to your attention

There will not be a test

Nothing bad happens if you don't hear them

Too many techbros? Mute 'em all

That one guy's jokes need a CW? Your timeline can be full of other stuff

You can even mute that one person's boosts while keeping their posts

It's not censorship; you're not hurting that person

And you don't ever need to explain it or tell anyone

Sucks that so much of early game development is shrouded behind a wall because gamers have no understanding of checks notes work, and thus endlessly complain about how a game in alpha or whatever looks like “garbage”

Wow, nearly $8.2 million raised for charity! Indie gamers are amazing.

Just because the people who are calling for police and prison abolition do not have all the answers to your questions, doesn't mean that what they are advocating for isn't vastly superior to what we currently have.

Check out my latest article: what makes text adventures tick; it shouldn't be a mystery how work, and how best to learn if not with the most low-tech kind of game there is? notimetoplay.org/engines/text-
