@noelle Would a 'Locked' user's statuses still be visible on the server? Or, hidden until the account is reinstated?
It might be nice to have a locked account's toots be hidden from the rest of the server if they've gotten the account locked. Or, is the assumption that an admin has already deleted the offensive content?
@kevinja I'm of two minds about that, and my instinct is to tie it in with a suggestion I saw (from @InspectorCaracal, maybe?) about non-public statuses in general: that there should be a "there's a post you can't see here" marker in the conversation, but not the actual toot. Does that make sense?
@noelle @InspectorCaracal Yeah, it totally makes sense... I like that idea. That way you don't have dangling one-way conversations.
@kevinja @noelle Yeah, exactly. And honestly at this point I'd just be happy with a note saying "you may not be seeing all sides of this conversation" or something, just, literally anything. 😅
The marker indicating there's a post not being displayed doesn't need to have any identifying information at all, and shouldn't imo except for its conversation and in-reply-to IDs
@noelle I agree 100% with the comment that this is what Suspended should be doing and that Delete should be something else. Like, Delete, or Ban. So that the terminology is the same as everywhere else. 😓 Also it's a very good idea.
