I never understood the reasoning behind such an insane rate of deflation that it rapidly outpaces any sort of economic growth.

@noelle Mining had planned obsolescence built in to help combat inflation. Used to be, you could wind up with 50 coins after one lucky night on a somewhat out of date computer.

Now, it's more like stocks or other currencies. People can buy low and sell high. The people doing the mining might as well be panning for gold.

Either way, still not tempted to invest in it.

@noelle Dang. Can't say I'm surprised, though. It was never supposed to be a bottomless well of value. I just wish we'd stop wasting so many resources on BTC as a whole.
