"The Oxford comma sometimes makes sentences nonsensical. Here's an example:

Without: I sometimes enjoy eating pizza, hamburgers and hot dogs.

With: I sometimes enjoy eating pizza, hamburgers, and the Oxford comma."

@noelle Pacman eats full stops, you eat the Oxford comma. What about that doesn't make sense?

@noelle I sort of hate how Oxford Comma has become a shibboleth for "I care about punctuation."

The correct answer is always RTFSG, read the fine style guide. Otherwise, you're just making work for someone else down the road.

@noelle I have no problem with being a hard-core descriptivist and being an asshole with the red pen. The difference is that I don't treat the styleguide as having any more objective truth than the letterhead or the dress code.
