@LottieVixen It's a menu-driven apt interface; it's interactive rather than command-line so it's a little easier to use if, like me, you don't always remember command-line arguments easily. >_>

@noelle absolutely not. when I was still using Ubuntu I mostly used synaptic, lol. (though I'm more comfortable with command line pacman for whatever reason)
@noelle Well, I guess so am I. But really, I just prefer gentoo to Ubuntu anyway...

I didn't know aptitude had an interactive mode! Have always used it just as cli.
