In 1982-1984, I did some volunteer work for Project Place in Cambridge, MA. They provided office space and other assistance (like grant writing and research) for non-profit organizations. There's work to be done distributing food and organizing neighborhoods - and money available to do it - that would be great opportunities for leftists to network and provide alternatives to religious and corporate programs
