but the beauty of this show not just having realistic villains and multifaceted heros.
but also to not ignore the severe depravity of a world like this. and to show how that shit actively effects the children main characters and how they're allowed to cry but warned that this is only the tip of depravity
re: fma:b rewatch
god, the fact that his slight size is actually a fucking plot point and not just to make jokes is so fucking good.

What's wild to me is- it already was? Iirc they say they're on the edge of the warzone really, and vague references that there was some stuff that happened near enough to Resembool. At the very least we can figure more than just Winry's parents were involved.
But it recovered, and healed. Scarred, in it's people that came back, even the animals represented by Den, but... overall fine?
Mmmm that's some good subtle themarics

@katrani comunity, especially good community like their little village, can unite and grow.
and Ed and Al were too young to do anything about it. Hell, I bet it happened while they were off doing their alchemy training. Granny agreed to let them go as the fights got closer.
But to know that their loved ones would actively worry about them and have stress from them???? that's too much for the kids to introduce, because, well, they're still kids.
