Is it my turn to make an #introduction post? Alrighty
I go by many names but online most call me Fuku/Fooks.
Currently exist in the UK, but I'd love to be somewhere else. Used to live in Japan.
I love learning languages, much to the detriment of my friends who already speak them and have to deal with my awful attempts.
As for games, you'll mostly find me on FFXIV, but I love almost any strategy game I can play. (HOI4, EUIV, AoE, AoW, Civ etc.)
A thoroughly boring person IRL.
Got messaged by a big UK print colouring magazine, Colouring Heaven, that sells in places like WHSmith. They're starting a 'Discovery Club', which is a paid subscription service, and wanted to showcase me as a featured artist in one of the Discovery Club newsletters. They'd want a bio, they'd ask me some questions, feature some of my work, share my shop links, and want an exclusive PDF colouring page from me.
... And they expect me (and other artists) to do this 'for exposure'.
A gentle reminder that "trap" is a slur that implies that trans women are "really men" and are deceiving straight men into being attracted to them, and that using "trap" to refer to trans people tells us that you can't be trusted. #themoreyouknow
I'm cautiously happy with having the ego boost to having more responsibility and all the trust with having a slightly more complicated role, but I do have to warn my colleagues continously that my advice is not official "legal advice." I'm not a lawyer, not a paralegal or anything or the sorts, and I don't want any issues coming back to me as a result of my advice.
On a slightly more positive note, and also more weird note, I've been promoted to being part of the "legal department" at work in a weird twist of fate. I have absolutely no official education in Law, but I do enjoy researching it quite a bit. This came from me pointing out that we were literally breaking the law in some of our marketing material, so the mangerial team think I "have a really good eye for those kinds of things."
complaining about work, hate speech, update
So after today it turns out I'm indeed going to be placed in a team all by myself. I'm a lil nervous about it but next month I'll finally be free. I haven't received any more info regarding my "region" I'll be in charge of tho.
complaining about work, hate speech
Since I work in a Japanese work environment I was expecting my manager to simply tell me to "wait it out" and "please bear with it for a while" but instead he was genuinely really helpful and I'm so glad. Instead he asked me about whether I would rather be in another team or in my own team, either of which is preferrable to being partnered with a nazi.
It seems I'll get an update on what I'll be doing as soon as Thursday.
complaining about work, hate speech
I've had a problem at work recently where I'm on a team of 2, but my teammate is far right and fascist, the constant racism and "hot takes" were really getting to me and I'm not a very conflicting person, so after about 6 months of this I spoke to my manager (cont)
trans stuff/asking for advice
Does anyone have any advice or anything for voice training, my search came up empty and it's probably one of the worst parts of my dysphoria. Recently muting myself a lot on some voice channels due to rampant misgendering, even after explaining that I'm not cis and it hurts.
i am sorry #LowEffortMiku
