@RC @radicalrobit don't want to go all "oh i'm a european so I know better than everyone else" but it kinda reminds me before the pandemic I was at a DSA meeting (look...) and one guy there was talking about companies that have "unlimited PTO" clauses, and how it's a scam so employees feel pressured to take less time off. and he went like "well, it's bullshit. people should take as much PTO as possible [...]

@RC @radicalrobit if it were me, the company wouldn't understand what happened to them, I'd take... [pause for reflection] at least FOUR WEEKS!" and he looked really happy with that concept, right, taking four weeks PTO as a way of sticking it to the man. and I was like, dude, the legal minimum in france is 5. most people get more than that.
like, living in the US drops your standards by a lot, and i've been feeling that myself since I moved here...

@wxcafe @radicalrobit I hear you. I've tried my damndest to move out of this god forsaken country, but I just hasn't happened!
Just being NY is a blessing compared to every other state. I'm damn well going to give up on national politics and move my state and city as much as possible.
I'm not happy with the state of things, I won't settle.
