uspol - the empty promise of universal healthcare

we ought to stop demanding universal healthcare from the state and just fucking do it ourselves

do you seriously think jeff bezos and bill gates are gonna put some money aside to the state for your health as a replaceable worker in what they view as an increasingly overpopulated world? The U.S. government is openly controlled by people who answer to fuckers who are even more sick and selfish than them, even. I don't think voting "pretty please" will change the minds of the rich and powerful who decide which political figureheads you get to select. Their legitimacy has to be threatened somehow.

@thufie You have a plan for how we can "do" universal healthcare ourselves, accessibly and without the infrastructure of the state? Because I would love to hear it.

@OchotonidKnight I'm not in healthcare, but I'd sure like to help.

I get the feeling, however that this post is more aimed towards questioning whether it is possible, maybe..?

uspol - the empty promise of universal healthcare, I am going to say things you are not going to want to hear, long

@thufie Maybe reconsider your use of the word "just" next time you have no idea what you are talking about. True universal healthcare requires not only the aforementioned infrastructure, but also a coordinated effort by the people to not be walked all over by the pharmaceutical industry, never mind the insurance one. The problem is these industries hold fundamentally a lot of power over even a coordinated movement of millions, as they are being permitted to operate as though they can negotiate the cash value of saving your life, literally holding these people at ransom for massive profits. Thus, these millions of people need a powerful institution of their own as counterleverage against those murderous grifters, punishing the predators for pursuing profits over people. If only an institution existed such that could be turned in direct service towards these millions of people against the few the would exploit them . . . :thaenkin:
