#microsoft #xbox #xboxplayanywhere
If Microsoft REALLY wants Xbox Play Anywhere to succeed, they're going to have to force the issue with third-party devs. That is, start requiring large publishers to release a certain percentage of games as Play Anywhere. Otherwise, they just won't do it. The only other way is to release an Xbox One Runtime Environment for Windows 10 computers in general and make ALL X1 games compatible.
Hey, Edge is a pretty good browser. Stop laughing, I'm serious. It is. I said STOP laughing, not laugh harder!

Love the dream nya. Didn't reply to it because I felt it demanded to be left alone.
I've updated my brief introduction to Mastodon with a new heading: "How private is "Private"?": https://gist.github.com/joyeusenoelle/74f6e6c0f349651349a0df9ae4582969#how-private-is-private
I've reprinted it here because it should be read.
I cannot stress this enough: Private toots are not encrypted or secure.
The admin of your server can read any toot posted on their server, as well as any toot sent to a user on their server. This is a necessary security precaution.
I'm gonna try and move to @Concerned_Catgirl

Fun fact: Nimrod was a Biblical hunter of great renown. The American use of "nimrod" as an insult (meaning someone who's foolish and short-sighted) is due in large part to Bugs Bunny's use of the name as a mocking description of Elmer Fudd.
Silicon Valley thinks we are in a moment of “anti-tech sentiment”
Loooool no we just finally woke up the masses to the San Francisco business model. Notice that nobody’s mad at Intel! Nobody’s complaining about how VLC killed a woman testing some machinery. Nobody thinks propaganda in Mint Linux tainted a presidential election. No buddy that’s an anti-corruption sentiment you’re catching. You have a corrupted business model.
If you want to help me survive, it'd be very nice to help me out in whatever little way you could
thank you
If you need a friend, I am happy to try to be your friend
(Women have been fighting for decades to get taken seriously in fields like trash collection and mining.)
In other words, privilege affects the choices and opportunities we have, as well as the responsibility we're assigned for making them. (Example: a white man and a black man commit the same crime. Who's going to be punished more severely by the police and the courts? Who's more likely to end up dead at the hands of a policeman?)
It's important to frame privilege in terms of the ways in which the society we live in is designed to add/remove agency to/from certain groups. "Women aren't given sentences as harsh as men's" because people have been trained to assume women can't handle prison. "Women don't have to pay for dinner" because men have been trained to assume women don't have jobs/independent incomes. "Women don't have to take life-threatening work" because people have been trained to think of that as "men's work".
Explaining privilege as simply "the advantages this class gets/the things this class doesn't have to deal with" isn't the best way to talk about it. On the surface, "women aren't given sentences as harsh as men's / don't have to pay for dinner / don't have to take life-threatening work" sound like advantages and things women don't have to deal with.
Hey! It's time for the Embarrassingly Basic Checklist!
If you're feeling a bit stupid or out of sorts, when is the last time you...
...ate a real food?
...drank some water?
...took your pills?
