OK, I'm not really big on the emulation scene (I mostly play PC games and most of the ones I play don't need emulation...), but this enclosure for a Pi 0 with screen and buttons ...

This is adorable.

I don't have a use for it, but I want one.

Mind you, this would be a totally impractical purchase. I don't play any games that would be fun to play on such a small screen, and without access to a mouse.

I could add a mouse, easily, but it would be bigger than the enclosure itself so that would be kind of silly.

Apparently there's a company selling an SD card preloaded with RetroPie and "8000+ Retro Games" but the art in the single image they have to promote their product makes me dubious they have the legal rights to distribute this content.

I mean, RetroPie is open source, that's fine, but a lot of the games in the cover art are licensed IPs, some of which are now owned by Disney.

I have my doubts as to the legality here.

@Crash Yeah it's probably like those Roku knockoff sticks that have a built in set of piracy streams

@Crash it looks like it would be uncomfortable to hold for more than 5 minutes.

@phil Oh, certainly, but that's nostalgia for you. I love the aesthetic but not the practicality.

Heck, I spent hours on end back in the day playing with a Merlin.

If I had one now would I use it for more than 5 minutes? No, it would kill my fingers. Do I still think fondly of when I had one? Of course.
